{"id":2604,"date":"2020-11-10T19:32:07","date_gmt":"2020-11-10T19:32:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/harshlab.eu?p=2604"},"modified":"2020-11-10T19:32:07","modified_gmt":"2020-11-10T19:32:07","slug":"harslab-floating-offshore-platform-robust-enough-to-withstand-storm-epsilon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/harshlab.eu\/en\/2020\/11\/harslab-floating-offshore-platform-robust-enough-to-withstand-storm-epsilon\/","title":{"rendered":"HarsLab floating offshore platform robust enough to withstand storm Epsilon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A webcam installed recently by CoreMarine on HarshLab, the advanced floating platform-laboratory for the evaluation of materials, components and equipment in a real offshore environment, provided vivid testimony of the effects of Storm Epsilon.<\/p>\n<p>The floating lab, moored off the Biscay Marine Energy Platform (BiMEP), some three kilometres from the coast, withstood extreme weather conditions, with eight-metre waves and winds of up to 20 knots.<\/p>\n<p>Both the mooring lines and the infrastructure itself stood up well to the storm, and all tests in progress were able to proceed as planned.<\/p>\n<p>This is the third consecutive winter for HarshLab since it was installed in September 2018.
